500 miles - Human!Cronus x Reader

  Seeing him leave like this broke your heart.  The man you had loved with all your heart was walking out the door without you.

But someone had to pay the bills and with a baby on the way there was no way you could work. Tears ran down your face as Cronus turned around and waved to you, blowing kisses which you caught and lifted to your cheek.

It was going to be a long two years without him. You would make it through though. You had to for Cronus. He would always be in your heart and you would wait patiently for the day he returned.

You watched as your husband made the long trek to the mines, 500 miles away.

  Your due date came and went and you were blessed with a beautiful and healthy baby girl. You named her Victoria after your grandmother like Cronus had wanted.

The money came in every week and it was more than enough to keep both you and Victoria fed and warm. Along with each check came a letter which you read to you lovely daughter every Sunday before bed, telling her that it was from her loving father.

  It had been a year and Victoria was now sleeping through the nights. You were still restless though. Nights were the toughest. You missed the warmth of Cronus’ embrace and the sweet words he would whisper into your ear to help you fall asleep.

The only thing that would calm you down at night was the letters. The ones that promised of a job closer to home and the thoughts of growing old with the one you loved the most.

  Another year had come and gone and now Victoria could walk and talk. She waddled outside and stood on the porch with you, waiting as a figure drew nearer.

As the man neared there was no doubt in your mind who it was. Although he was stained from head to toe in soot you could clearly make out the handsome features of your beloved husband.

“That’s him Victoria. That’s daddy.” You said to the two year old clinging to your hand. Her eyes lit up and she ran towards Cronus.

“Daddy!” She squealed as she hugged him. He picked her up and carried her up the steeps toward you.

“Hun, I would walk 500 miles. And I would walk 500 more. Just to see you again.” His voice was as smooth as ever and his arms maybe just a little bit stronger as he pulled you into a tight embrace. Tears welled up in your eyes and all you could do was hug him tighter.
